Heavy-Duty Pallet Racks in Wyoming, MI
We design, supply and install new pallet racks in Wyoming for heavy raw material and finished goods. Our industrial pallet racks are sized from actual load weights and placed around crane travel and rail receiving. Wyoming is about 45 miles north, just south of Grand Rapids. Its industrial users skew heavy: steel, raw material and long stock, often arriving by rail.
That means beam and arm capacities well above a typical warehouse, and layouts that respect cranes and rail tracks inside the building.
Pallet Racks for Wyoming’s Site 36 Industrial Park
Site 36 on 36th Street has a direct US-131 interchange, two rail spurs next to the Grand Elk Railroad yard, and room for buildings from 100,000 up to 1,000,000 sq ft. Gerald R. Ford International Airport is about 8–9 miles from the area.
New buildings here are a chance to lay out heavy selective pallet rack around rail receiving from the first plan.
Warehouse Racking in Heavy Plants with Indoor Rail
The Wyoming Industrial Center at Porter and Burlingame is a 1942 heavy-industrial building with CSX rail on site and indoor rail access. Ceilings run from 25 ft up to 70 ft, with overhead cranes.
In a building like that, pallet racking goes where the crane does not. We map crane bays, keep rail clearances open and use the lower-ceiling areas for pallet racks the crane never needs to touch.
- Crane bays left clear
- Rail envelope kept open
- Rack placed in lower-ceiling areas
Cantilever for Steel and Long Stock
Bar, tube, pipe and structural shapes belong on cantilever rack. Heavy-duty arms carry bundled steel; upright spacing is set from the shortest piece so nothing sags between arms.
Side loaders and forklifts need a straight approach, so we plan loading lanes wide enough for the longest bundle.
Raw Material Flow in Big Buildings
Site 36 allows buildings up to 1,000,000 sq ft. At that scale, travel distance is the hidden cost. Raw material should land at rack nearest the rail spur, and finished goods should sit nearest the truck doors.
We lay out heavy selective and cantilever blocks in the order material moves: rail in, storage, production, outbound. That keeps forklifts from crossing the building with heavy loads.
Long stock that arrives by rail can go straight onto cantilever positioned beside the spur, with a straight lane for the side loader.
Sizing Industrial Pallet Racks for Heavy Loads
Raw-material pallets and steel baskets can run several times heavier than finished-goods pallets. We ask for actual weights, then size pallet rack systems per level rather than across the whole system.
Every frame is anchored to the floor, and capacity labels are posted on every bay.
