Storage Racks in Comstock Township, MI
We plan, quote and install new pallet racks in Comstock Township for distributors and shared warehouse space. Our warehouse racking layouts work around existing columns, rail docks and tenant walls. Comstock Township is five miles from our office, and Midlink Business Park is a 387-acre redevelopment of a former auto stamping plant at I-94 and Sprinkle Road.
Reusing an old plant means working with what the building gives you. Columns, rail docks and tenant walls were not placed with your inventory in mind, so the pallet racking layout has to work around them.
Warehouse Racking for Comstock Township’s Midlink Buildings
The original building covered 44 acres under one roof. It has since been split into Midlink East and Midlink West, with a 1,200 x 240 ft truck plaza between them that holds up to 110 bays. Access comes from Sprinkle Road and Cork Street.
The park has dual rail service and is set up for advanced manufacturing and distribution. Many tenants are 3PLs and distributors sharing the space.
Pallet Racking Around an Existing Column Grid
In a legacy plant the column grid is fixed. We measure every column line, then plan selective pallet rack rows to fall between them. Sometimes that means mixing bay widths within one row to avoid losing a position at each post.
Aisle widths follow your trucks. A reach-truck aisle fits more rows between columns than a counterbalanced aisle, and in an old grid that difference can decide whether a third row of pallet racks fits.
- Column centers measured, not taken from old prints
- Bay widths mixed where the grid demands it
- Rows aligned to dock doors and rail positions
Drive-In Pallet Rack for Deep Lots
Some Midlink tenants hold large lots of a single product. Drive-in rack can fill awkward bays between columns where a full aisle would not fit, and it stores those lots densely.
We keep drive-in near rail docks when inbound arrives by rail car, so deep product goes straight to deep storage.
The Wider Sprinkle Road Corridor
Comstock's industrial ground is bigger than Midlink. Pavilion Commerce Park on East N Avenue, just south of I-94, adds newer 32 ft clear bulk buildings, and the E. Michigan Ave / ML Ave / Business I-94 area north of the interchange holds older plants and steel buildings.
That gives tenants a real choice between newer height and older floor space. A 32 ft clear bay at Pavilion can take five or six beam levels; an older 18–24 ft building nearby takes three or four.
We can lay out both options for the same inventory so you can compare how many positions each address yields before signing a lease.
Multi-Tenant 3PL Planning
3PLs in shared space change clients. We draw pallet rack systems that can be adjusted or divided into new zones without starting over: consistent frame depths, standard beam lengths, and aisle spacing that works for more than one client's pallet mix.
When a client moves out or a tenant moves within the park, our warehouse relocation service handles teardown and reinstall.
